October, 2026: Our group and rotation students participate in Ohio State’s Breakfast of Science Champions event, welcoming 150 middle school students from Columbus City Schools for a fun day of hands-on science demonstrations! We demonstrated how a piece of gadolinium metal loses magnetization when heated above its Curie temperature using a hair dryer and regains ferromagnetic order when cooled in an ice-water bath.
